Nadi Astrology

Nadi astrology is an ancient Indian predictive system that holds the life stories of individual souls were inscribed on palm leaves (Olai Chuvadi) by the Saptarishis, the Seven Sages, thousands of years ago. Authentic readings, preserved at centres such as Vaitheeswaran Koil in Tamil Nadu, are located by matching a seeker's thumb impression rather than being calculated from a birth chart.

Because the leaves are treated as direct revelations from these texts, Nadi differs from conventional Jyotisha, where predictions are derived from the positions of planets in the horoscope.

In Nadi astrology the 27 Nakshatras are grouped into three Nadis: Aadi (beginning), Madhya (middle), and Antya (end). This threefold classification is drawn from the birth Moon Nakshatra and is used in compatibility analysis and in shaping predictions.

The Nadi of two people is one factor weighed when judging a match, which is why the same grouping appears in Nadi Dosha checks within traditional horoscope matching.

Nadi texts traditionally teach that karma can be modified, so the prophecies describe potential paths rather than fixed, unchangeable destinies. Remedies such as temple visits, mantras, and rituals are prescribed to soften difficult karmic patterns.

In this view the leaves reveal tendencies carried from past lives, while sincere effort, good deeds, and spiritual practice are held to influence how those tendencies finally unfold.
