Birth Time Rectification Methods
Event-Based Rectification
The only method here with information from outside the chart. Your Vimshottari ladder is resolved to the date of each event you give us, and the running lords are tested against the houses that own that kind of event.
- • Marriage read from houses 2, 7 and 11, karaka Venus
- • Career from 2, 6, 10 and 11, karakas Saturn and Sun
- • Children from 2, 5 and 11, karaka Jupiter
- • Reported per event, including the ones a candidate fails
Parashari System
Every candidate is charted on the divisional charts you select, and scored on how far it sits from the edge of each division. This is what tells you how precisely a birth time can be spoken about at all.
- • Any of 21 vargas, D1 through D150
- • Division boundaries solved from the ephemeris, not from an average
- • Weighted by Vimshopaka Bala (BPHS Shodashavarga)
- • Bhava sandhi flagged when the lagna sits near a sign boundary
Krishnamurti Paddhati (KP)
The sharpest single instrument here. The lagna sub-lord changes roughly every six minutes against the two hours a rasi lagna takes, and the sub-sub goes finer still.
- • Lagna sub-lord and sub-sub-lord from the 249-division table
- • Twelve Placidus cuspal sub-lords
- • Ruling planets of the candidate moment, day lord taken from sunrise
- • A coherence check, not the classical judgment, which needs a live sitting
Nadi Astrology
Nadi's own instruments are specified but not built yet. Selecting this runs the divisional pass on the finest chart available and returns no nadi fields, rather than fields no calculation produced.
- • Available now: the D150 nadiamsa, about 48 seconds per division
- • Not yet built: pranapada lagna, Gulika, pancha-boothodaya tattva
- • Until then, choose Integrated for the strongest available reading
Integrated Approach
Runs the divisional, Krishnamurti and life-event passes together, then reports how far apart their best candidates fall. Methods agreeing to within one division of your finest chart is the strongest signal this tool can give you. Methods disagreeing is worth more than a single number that hides it, so that is shown too.
- • Divisional stability, 40% of the ranking score
- • KP sub-lord and ruling planets, 30%
- • Life-event correlation, 30%
- • The weights used are returned with every result
- • A ranked shortlist, never a single timestamp
- • A resolution statement, never a confidence percentage
- • Per-event evidence you can check yourself
- • The same input always gives the same answer
What is Birth Time Rectification?
Birth Time Rectification (BTR) is the astrological process of determining accurate birth time when it is unknown, approximate, or uncertain. Since the Ascendant (Lagna) changes every 2 hours and house cusps shift with minutes, precise birth time is crucial for accurate predictions. Many people have approximate times like "morning," "around 3 PM," or uncertain recorded times.
Rectification uses the principle that past life events should match the birth chart. By analyzing known life events like education milestones, marriage, children, career changes, health issues, and family events, astrologers can narrow down the probable birth time. Events are matched against Dasha periods, transits, and house significations.
Our Birth Time Rectification tool helps estimate your accurate birth time using life events. Enter significant events with their dates, and our algorithm analyzes multiple possible birth times to find the one that best correlates with your life pattern. What is birth time rectification?
Birth time rectification (BTR) is the process of refining an uncertain, approximate, or unknown birth time so that the Ascendant (Lagna) and the divisional charts come out correct. Because the Lagna changes roughly every two hours and the house cusps shift within minutes, even a small error can misplace the houses.
A wrong Ascendant makes every house-based prediction unreliable, which is why rectification is the first step whenever a recorded time is vague or in doubt.
Which techniques are used to rectify a birth time?
The main technique correlates known life events, such as education, marriage, childbirth, career changes, and health crises, with the Dasha periods, transits, and house significations that should activate them. Candidate birth times are tested until one best matches the actual life pattern.
Classical supporting methods include Tattva timing, the ruling-planet approach, and cross-checking divisional charts, all used to narrow the probable time down further.
How accurate is birth time rectification?
Accuracy depends on the quality and number of dated events supplied; with roughly five to ten well-dated major events, rectification can typically narrow the birth time to within about 5 to 15 minutes. More reliable events sharpen the result.
Events with exact dates, such as marriages and the birth of children, are the most useful, and future events can then be used to verify that the rectified time holds up.
