Vedic Flaws, Cancellations & Astrological Remedies

Vedic Astrological Doshas

In Vedic astrology, a Dosha represents a specific planetary friction resulting from past karmic imprints. However, genuine Jyotish places equal emphasis on Dosha Bhanga (Cancellations), which over 60% of people have without knowing.

Mangal Dosha (Kuja Dosha)

Mars in 1st, 2nd, 4th, 7th, 8th, or 12th

The most discussed marital alignment in Vedic astrology. Examines aggression, marital compatibility, and the critical cancellation rules that negate it.

Kaal Sarp Dosha

All 7 Planets Trapped Between Rahu & Ketu

Occurs when all physical grahas are hemmed within the Rahu-Ketu nodal axis, creating intense karmic trials followed by extraordinary rise after age 28–36.

Pitra Dosha

Sun or 9th House Afflicted by Rahu / Saturn

Indicates ancestral debts and unresolved paternal karma causing career stagnation, child delay, or familial friction. Remedied through Tarpana and charity.

Guru Chandal Dosha

Jupiter Conjoined or Aspected by Rahu

A conjunction of wisdom (Jupiter) and illusion (Rahu) causing unorthodox philosophies, rebellious questioning, or lapses in moral judgment.

Nadi Dosha

Same Nadi (Adi, Madhya, Antya) in Kundali Milan

Carries 8 points in Ashtakoota matching. While feared for progeny concerns, classical texts provide extensive cancellation exceptions.

Dosha Bhanga: Why Most Feared Doshas Are Already Cancelled

Many automated astrology software tools flag severe doshas mechanically without checking the classical cancellation rules (Bhanga). In classical texts:

Manglik Cancellations

Mars in its own sign (Aries/Scorpio), exaltation (Capricorn), or aspected by Jupiter or the Moon automatically neutralizes Kuja Dosha. Matching with a fellow Manglik or a strong Saturn also balances it.

Partial (Anshik) Kaal Sarp

If even a single planet (often Moon or Mars) sits outside the Rahu-Ketu nodal axis, it becomes an Anshik Kaal Sarp, which often acts as a powerhouse for political and business ambition rather than a curse.

Nadi Exceptions

If both partners share the same Moon sign with different Nakshatras, or have different Nakshatra padas, the Nadi Dosha is completely nullified according to Muhurta Chintamani.
