Two of the eight tests in Vedic marriage matching read nothing but the two Moon signs. Graha Maitri asks whether the planets ruling the signs are friends, for up to 5 points. Bhakoot counts the distance from one sign to the other, for 7 points or none. This chart gives both, out of 12, for every one of the 78 possible pairings.
It is the part of compatibility a sign can settle. The other 24 of the 36 Guna Milan points depend on each partner's birth star, which needs a birth time.

What the chart shows
Of the 78 pairings, 17 score the full 12. 36 lose Bhakoot, and of those 17 have a classical cancellation through the friendship of their ruling planets while 19 do not. Every same-sign pair scores 12, because a sign shares its own lord and the same-sign relation passes Bhakoot.
The chart often disagrees with Western sun-sign compatibility. Same-element trines such as Aries and Leo are the Western favourites, and Bhakoot puts exactly that 5 and 9 relation in its failing column, for reasons to do with children and lineage rather than affection. In most of those trines the objection is then cancelled, because the two ruling planets are friends.
A high score here is a good sign, not a verdict. Nadi, the heaviest koota at 8 points, fails for about one couple in three and needs both birth stars to check.
