Vishdhar Kaal Sarp Dosh puts three facts next to each other that most writing on the subject keeps apart, and the contradiction is the most instructive thing in the whole list of twelve.

The type forms when Rahu occupies the 11th house and Ketu the 5th, with all seven classical grahas contained in the half between them. It accounts for 9.39% of formed cases, the highest share of any of the twelve, or 0.35% of all charts given that the configuration appears in 3.69% of charts.

The name translates roughly as poison bearer. The 11th house is the house the classical texts consider Rahu's best. And the frequency is the largest of the twelve. Those three statements are all true and they point in different directions.

## Vishdhar Kaal Sarp Dosh sits on Rahu's most favourable house

The 11th is an upachaya house, a house of growth, and it governs gains, income, networks, elder siblings and the general flow of what comes in from the wider world. Rahu placed there is not merely tolerable in the classical scheme. It is the placement most often described as outright favourable.

The reasoning is consistent with everything else about the graha. Rahu is appetite without a natural limit, and the 11th is the one house where an unlimited appetite has somewhere useful to point. Gains do not have a ceiling in the way that, say, health or partnership do. A hunger for more, applied to the house of more, is a match rather than a mismatch.

So the type carrying the second most alarming name in the list is built on the placement the tradition rates highest. Both facts came from the same tradition. Only one of them tends to appear on a page about Kaal Sarp Dosh.

## The 11 and 5 axis, read properly

Rahu in the 11th amplifies acquisition and connection. The recognisable expression is someone who accumulates network the way other people accumulate possessions, who knows a startling number of people, and whose income tends to arrive through those connections rather than through a salary line.

## The elder sibling signification, which is nearly always dropped

The 11th house governs elder siblings as well as gains, and it is the signification that disappears from every popular treatment of this placement, presumably because money is more interesting to write about.

Rahu there tends to produce an outsized elder sibling relationship: a brother or sister who occupies a great deal of room in the person's account of their own life, for better or worse, and who is frequently the route through which opportunities arrived. That fits the rest of the placement, since the 11th is the house of what comes in through other people and an elder sibling is the earliest version of that.

The absence of an elder sibling is not a contradiction. In those charts the same signification tends to attach to whoever occupied the role, which in practice means the older friend, the first mentor, or the person who was already inside the thing the native wanted to get into.

Set against Ketu in the 5th, the pattern is consistent: the doors were opened by people above rather than by something the person made.

## Padma is this axis reversed

[Padma Kaal Sarp Dosh](https://mahadasha.com/padma-kaal-sarp-dosh)  puts Rahu in the 5th and Ketu in the 11th, and it has the second lowest share of the twelve at 7.32%. Together the pair account for 16.71% of formed cases.

The two readings are close to opposites, which makes this pair the clearest demonstration in the cluster that the axis rather than the name carries the content. Padma creates intensely and does not care about gathering. Vishdhar gathers intensely and does not care about creating. Same two houses, same containment, and two lives that would find each other incomprehensible.

## The highest share of the twelve, and why it means nothing

9.39% against a flat expectation of 8.33% looks like a signal until you check whether it survives resampling.

It does not. Across three bands of birth years the twelve types ranged from 7.05% to 9.39%, a ratio of 1.33, and the names occupying the top and bottom positions changed between samples. In one window Shankhachud led at 9.23% and Kulik trailed at 6.92%, neither of which is where they sit in the widest window.

That instability is the definition of noise. If this type were genuinely more common, it would be more common in every sample.
