The first house does not, so the rule about a karaka spoiling the house it signifies has nothing here to soften it. Sun in 1st house puts the natural indicator of the self into the house that already signifies the self, and Jyotish has a name for that arrangement. The bearing is upright, the gaze holds longer than is comfortable, and the forehead is usually the feature people describe first. Greying starts early and the hairline goes back rather than thin.
