Ghatak Kaal Sarp Dosh carries the most alarming name in the list and the most ordinary numbers behind it, which is a useful pairing to examine because it shows exactly where the fear in this subject is manufactured.

The type forms when Rahu occupies the 10th house and Ketu the 4th, with all seven classical grahas contained in the half between them. It is 8.49% of formed cases, or 0.31% of all charts, since the configuration appears in only 3.69% of charts to begin with.

## Ghatak Kaal Sarp Dosh has the worst name and average numbers

Ghatak translates roughly as destroyer or killer. It is the only name in the twelve whose plain meaning is threatening, and it is the reason this type generates a disproportionate share of the alarmed writing on the subject.

Some are adversaries. They were never a graded scale of misfortune, and nothing in the source material suggests the compiler who mapped them onto twelve house positions intended one.

What happened afterwards is ordinary. A list of twelve names attached to twelve positions invites a ranking, readers expect the names to mean something, and writers oblige. The word Ghatak did most of the work by itself, because it is the only one that translates into something frightening without any help.
