# About Mahadasha.com

Mahadasha.com publishes Vedic astrology (Jyotish) calculations and interpretation.

## Calculation methodology

- **Ayanamsha:** Lahiri (Chitrapaksha), the standard adopted by the Government of India.
- **Zodiac:** sidereal, as classical Jyotish requires, not the tropical zodiac used in Western astrology.
- **Ephemeris:** planetary positions are computed server-side per request rather than looked up in precomputed tables.
- **House system:** whole-sign houses by default, with a true cuspal (Bhava Chalit) chart available separately.
